Colouring for Grown Ups!

Yo!

Okay, I am not crazy but I recently purchased a colouring book and some pencils and it made me so happy! I think life in the 21st century is so fast paced, mobile phones, tablets, tv's, screens everywhere! We all need a break and to do something simple, to take your time on something and go a little bit back to basics.

So the book I bought is full of intricate little patterns that are really detailed and take ages to colour in. It's fabulous! You get such a feeling of success when you have finished colouring in a page of tiny little white spaces and even greater is you have something, in a hard copy to show for your hard work.

I struggle with anxiety as said in a previous post (click here to read) and I struggle to sleep. I now think it's because I am watching TV or on my phone too late into the night. So I tried colouring before bed and it almost sets your mind up for sleep. It calms me down and settles me before bed and I feel like it's better than watching TV because it's creative.

If you're anything like me and you're thinking that silent activities are scary or 'I don't like being left alone with my thoughts', trust me it's nothing like that. Your mind becomes so focused on staying in the lines or what colour you will use next that your mind remains on the task at hand.

I can't think of anything nicer now then settling down in my armchair with a cup of tea and my colouring book to de-stress and calm myself.

It's perfect!

Do you colour? What's your favourite colouring book?

The book I bought was from The Works, click here to go to their site (this post is not sponsored)
