Spring Homewares Edit Featuring Dartington Crystal

Don't hate me, I know it's bad to talk about Spring when there's still a nip in the air. But it's good to be prepared right?

I love following home trends and like to think my lounge is set for a change in trend whatever the season. I like to stick with a neutral palette at home so I can adapt my furnishings to the next best thing.

A big trend coming this Spring is coastal, and trust me I'm not complaining! I love the coastal theme, the beach hut feel with muted pastels, blues and white wash and it is such an easy look to complete.

I must have felt it in the water but when I was approached by Dartington Crystal offering to pick some goodies I went straight for blues! In all fairness it was not an easy decision as all of their products are beautiful. I picked from the Bella range but I was also totally enamored with their flower bottles which are too die for and a timeless piece. They will never go out of trend.

I love this vase so much, it's etched design is subtle yet beautiful and gives it a cool edge. I think this vase is great all year round and looks amazing even without flowers. Mine is seeing me into spring with hyacinths and tulips.

I was also very lucky to receive one of their reed diffusers in blue of course with the scent of fresh linen which takes me right back to my mums laundry room on washing day.

Dartington also do so much more than vases they have other decor items, serve-ware and gifts. It really is a company you can get lost in. I totally recommend them and I'm in love with this vase.

Slissie. The Guilt Free Answer For Sweet Tooths!

I have a huge sweet tooth. My period cravings are pick and mix, I choose chocolate over crisps anyday. My tongue loves me but alas my thighs do not. So when I was sent this little gizmo all my craving problems were out the window. Slissie is a weight loss aid, essentially it is a vape pen but full of sweet surprises!

The idea is anytime you get a niggling craving at the back of your head telling you the only thing you want in the whole wide world is chocolate and no piece or fruit nor sugar free drink is going to curb it, that's where Slissie comes in. You have a little inhale from the sleek, pretty pen and there you have it, chocolate. You get the entire taste of chocolate without a single calorie. How awesome is that?

Slissie is really cute, it's a turquoise pen with a silver cap and fits neatly into your handbag or pocket. And it's rechargeable (lush) I don't know about you but I hate batteries. The pen itself takes refills of flavour that you just screw on and go!

Slissie comes in 4 flavours: original mint, chocolate, vanilla and fruit. So it will suit any sweet tooth and you can buy refills really easily on their website. You can choose from a single refill or a pack of three!

The packaging is beautiful which I think is really important because it feels like a treat when it arrives which, well, it is! I think this gadget is great and not just for people on diets but in general. If you can get the taste of what you want without having to worry about your sugar or fat intake then why not?

Slissie is also a great alternative to anyone trying to cut out dairy, you can still taste that vanillary ice cream and melting chocolate with no cow in sight!!

I would literally recommend this to everyone. I love my Slissie, you should join me! Get yours here... http://slissie.co.uk/products/slissie-starter-kit

Vape the UK way with Vape Shoreditch

Hey you!

This is a bit of a niche post today but it is something that I do every day, at least 10 times! I vape. In November of 2014 I decided to call it quits and I smoked my last cigarette. I started smoking due to stress, I worked in a phone shop at the time and EVERYONE who I know in the mobile phone industry smoked, don't ask me why. I have no idea.

If I'm entirely honest with you I didn't 'want' to quit, that year I was moving and there was some trouble moving between houses, subsequently I had to move back with my mum for a couple of months. Turns out it was the best thing that ever happened because of her incessant nagging (i'm sure she won't mind me saying) I quit, I moved to vaping and I've not touched a cigarette since.

Now a lot of people say vaping isn't quitting but to me it's no different to a nicotine patch or otherwise. I still get to enjoy the 'idea' of smoking without clogging my lungs, standing outside and smelling gross.

Whilst on the hunt for more liquids I came across Vape Shoreditch and so very kindly of them they gifted me some bits to tell you about.

What came in the box?

The box (with the best design work ever) had 3 eliquids and their very own Vape Two Pen.

The e-liquids:
The e-liquids are UK made and come in a range of flavours (20 to be precise), being the total child I am I went straight for bubblegum as well as apple pie and menthol blend (I used to be a menthol smoker, images of Dot Cotton are in your head now aren't they?) The liquids themselves taste incredible, true to the flavour which can be quite rare. When I cracked open apple pie I was hit with a buttery, cinnamon scent that blew me away.

The e-liquids are a 50/50 split of VG,PG which I prefer as you get a good throat hit and thick vapour.  They come in 10 ml bottles and can be ordered on a subscription service (which is so cool!) They cost £3.33 each or you can get 3 for £9.99.

The Vape kit:

The Vape Two box includes 1 rechargeable 360 mAh battery, a Samsung USB charger, a 1.5ml leak proof tank, and a spare dual coil (as well as the coil already fitted in the pen). MEGA! The finish on the Vape Two is beautiful, it have a white pearlescent finish that looks so sleek. It's 11mm in diameter and only weighs 30 grams. Although slimline the battery packs a punch and allows for a really full hit. The tank is slimline, simple and easy to fill and due to it being completely clear you can see exactly how much liquid you have left. The coils are small and easy to fit and they made with organic japanese cotton. The battery comes with a years warranty which I respect massively as a lot of companies don't do this and it reassures you of the great quality you're receiving. The kit itself comes in really reasonable at only £19.99.

All in all I think this is a great kit from a great company. I had a little play on the website and you can get your Vape Two, with 3 e-liquids and a pack of coils for £36.97 which is less than some similar spec Vape pen's cost ALONE. If you are a beginner to vaping (and please only vape as an alternative to smoking don't vape if you don't smoke) this is a great kit to get. Vaping is a great alternative to smoking and has been is approved by the NHS as a safer alternative to cigarettes.

Also on your first order with Vape Shoreditch you can get 4, 10ml e-liquids for £2.99 using code GETVAPING299. You quite literally have nothing to lose.

How to REALLY get Kylie Jenner lips with Juvederm.

Hello Lovely!!

Wondering how KJ did it? Sick of over lining your lips to end up still disappointed? That was me to!

Recently I was extremely lucky to be presented with an opportunity I couldn't turn down. Lip fillers. Now this isn't something I've ever thought about before but after the Kylie Jenner phenomenon, I just had to see what all the fuss was about.

Luckily I was invited to the beautiful Epsom Skin Clinics to give it a try. I must say I was so nervous, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

As with all terrifying situations I left wondering what all the fuss was about. It was a breeze. If anything kind of relaxing.  I've had a load of piercings and stuff before but the idea of injections floored me. So let me tell you exactly how it goes.

I went up to the waiting room after getting to the clinic and was presented with an array of hot drinks and pastries (thanks Epsom Skin Clinics!) Unfortunately what with my stomach doing cartwheels and the fear of 'pastry face' I just had a drink. Someone came out about ten minutes before my appointment and took my makeup off around my mouth area and then applied numbing cream!! Yes numbing cream (piercing people take note), just like the magic cream they gave you as a kid. The relief rushed over me like a wave as I slowly stopped feeling my lips! Soon enough my lips had gone completely numb and I went in.

It was a lovely room with a really calming atmosphere and the doctor asked what I was looking for. Lips only I asked and not huge, I would like them fuller and more defined. Luckily I think he'd heard this sentence before and assured me it could be done. He started off my measured my lips. Apparently they already had rather good proportions. Then began the injections. Now I recommend closing your eyes at this point, I didn't and I don't like needles. So with eyes closed he began. It was the weirdest feeling, first and foremost I felt no pain. It was like someone was playing with my lips really. Which is weird.

So he started on the top and I had two injections on the lip line of my top lip. Then the same on the bottom on the same side. After that he popped one into my top lip vertical from my Cupid's bow but more almost on the inside on off the lip for fullness. He then did the same on the bottom and put a little in the corner of my mouth to give my lips more of an upturn. I thanked him for this on account of my bitchy resting face. After he did the right side he did the exact same thing on the left. He then ran some from the tip of my Cupid's bow up the line that joins to your nose. He did this on both lines. Now this was the bit that was a little sore. I think this was only because they didn't numb to my nose. So the higher the needle went the more I could feel it. It was a little uncomfortable but nothing to write home about.

After a quick clean with an alcohol wipe he was done. I was shocked. It didn't take anymore than ten minutes and the results were instant and amazing. I was so happy with the way my lips looked!!

After it was done it was a little tender and I drank a coffee through a straw before heading home. After around and hour and a half the numbing wore off and I could feel my face again. But again it didn't hurt very much. Day two was when it became really quite sore. I drank through a straw took some pain killers and by day three I was back to normal.

Although it was something I never considered before I would definitely have it again. It's hardly invasive and the results speak for themselves.

Just for information in case any of you wanted to try it, I went to the Epsom Skin Clinic and had Juvederm fillers. For anti-aging they also use the Vycross range which is made up of Volbella, Voluma, and Volift.

Billion Dollar Brows. Why don't you own this?!

Hi guys!

It's time for a must have! Billion Dollar Brows make in my opinion AMAZING brow tools!

I was lucky enough to receive two gorgeous sets in the post. The 60 seconds to beautiful brows set and The Best Sellers kit

Both of these kits can be used in conjunction with each other because the 60 second kit includes a powder and the Best Sellers includes a pencil. I tend to use both together. Pencil to structure and detail and then powder to fill.

So the 60 second brow kit contains a taupe powder (which is a perfect colour for most skin tones) and an arched brow brush with a comb on the opposite end. The brush is to die for. Firm enough to past a really long time and it's ROSE GOLD. Need I say more? The brow powder is highly pigmented and a little goes a long way! The thing I love about this powder is it has staying power. Perfect!!

Now the Best Sellers kit is the ultimate! It contains literally everything you need for perfect brows. The brush is again rose gold and high quality. You also get the Brow Gel which I swear by for keeping random hairs at bay. Next you have the Brow Duo Pencil which is a double ended concealer and highlighter pencil. YOU NEED THIS. All those super sharp, structured Instagram brows will be lined with concealer and highlighted. It is the industry secret to perfect brows. Then of course the gem in the crown The Universal Brow pencil. This pencil is super pigmented and precise. It's a thin ended pencil perfect for drawing all the individual hairs and it stays on so well. In fact it was really hard to get off from my swatch!! The pencil also has a comb end. Super handy.

If you haven't tried BDB I highly recommend them. Their products are pretty and practical. It all does what it should and your brows will be on point. But always remember brows are sisters not twins!!

Grab yours here!!

App of the month! Neko Atsume Kitty Collector.

Hello favourite,

If you are anything like me then you will love cats. I adore cats and as the two go hand in hand I also adore anything kawaii. Now this is a bit of a new feature but I had to tell you about this app. I came across it thanks to the oracle that is BuzzFeed.

Neko Atsume is an app that gives you your own little garden to collect the stray cats of the neighbourhood. You have both gold and silver fish which are gifted to you by the cutest little kitties ever. You use these fish to buy the cats new toys and fancy food and you can remodel your garden and get an extension. It's like a dream.

There are loads of adorable cats with different personality traits. Some are more generous than others and some (Tubbs) eat ALL THE FOOD. As long as he's not disturbed he is very generous with his compensation.
There are loads of rare cats to collect too. It's super exciting when you see them popping up here and there. The aim of the game really is to collect all of the cats but popping in on the app from time to time makes me so happy!

So often I will find myself looking on Facebook and wondering why because there's so much misery of social media so Neko Atsume is a super cute welcome break.

My family think I'm totally mad but I don't care. I love this app and I think you will too. It's made my phone a far happier place to be.

It's available on both IOS and Android.

How to spot a FAKE! Urban Decay, MAC and more.

Hello you!

Welcome back. Now I am sure a lot of you may have bought or have been bought makeup for Christmas. If you're as addicted as I am I'm sure it would have been on your wanted list this year.

Unfortunately no matter whether you have been naughty or nice you can get caught out either way by the fakes on the market. Sadly, unless you REALLY know your stuff you could have no idea what you've bought. Now I am going to be a bit controversial here, I don't always think fakes are a bad thing. I know I know I shouldn't say it but hear me out. If you know you are buying a copy product and you have made the decision to go through with it then that to me is fine (kinda, I mean you are taking money away from the actual manufacturer. But I'm pretty sure they have enough money anyway). I know when I was younger and wanting to follow the Zoella's of the time I used to get really miffed that all the items they used were out of my budget so I would have kind of loved a fake palette, so in that sense I don't mind.

What I don't agree with is people getting ripped off and upset with their purchases. I'm a bit of a justice junkie. So with that said here are a few things to look out for when buying fakes...

If it looks too good to be true it probably is!!

I know this sounds super negative but let's be frank, if you are looking for a palette that costs £38.99 in Debenhams and you happen to come across one on ebay for £9.50 it has either 'fallen' off the back of a truck or it's fake. I mean there's luck and then there's just a trap.

Always look at feedback and reviews and check the stock. Ebay will always say how many are available and how many have sold. It is totally possible you've come across someone who bought it by accident or it was a doubled gift so is selling it on cheap but they would most likely only have one of the product and wouldn't have sold one before.

So let's say you've bought one and you get it, so is it a fake? It's hard to tell when you have nothing to compare it to. First and foremost it shouldn't be light, these companies take pride in the quality of their products and weight goes along with that. Secondly, look at the font. Fakes never have a perfect font, there may be parts disjointed, it may be too wide, give it a rub, is it staying on? Google the product and find a picture of the packaging, you can then look and compare for discrepancies.

Now what? Well your best bet is to initially get back in touch with the seller to see if you can get your money back. Sometimes they're good to you, sometimes they're really not. If you are having trouble get in contact with Ebay immediately, they take the selling of counterfeit goods very seriously and you should be able to get it resolved asap.

A few more top tips when buying from Ebay would be...

1. Use Paypal to check out, you get far more protection when it comes to a dispute.
2. Take note of the sellers name in case they disappear.
3. Take the product into a shop to compare to the real thing if you are unsure.
4. Keep calm when dealing with the sellers, they're trying to make a living and most people don't respond to anger.
5. Don't blame yourself, this has happened to me before and so many others. It's not your fault.

Finally I just want to say it's not just Ebay that has this problem. I've seen it happen on Gumtree, Shpock, Depop, Preloved any reseller website really so be vigilant.

Hopefully I have posted this early enough for you to take action if you have been caught out in the Christmas period.

I tried anti-depressants and I've been left like this!

Hey Gorgeous,

This post is going to take me forever to write and you will soon find out why. I have suffered with mental illness since around the age of 13. I don't mind telling you this as I am an advocate for breaking down the stigma with mental illness.

Due to initially being so young when I started my journey into "curing" mental health I couldn't use any anti-depressants and really I didn't want to. At the time I was extremely stubborn and, well, teenage. I thought "this can't happen to me" and "I'm fine, I don't need tablets" despite getting out of bed everyday being increasingly difficult.

I lived like this for around 7 years, medication free. I tried counselling, it wasn't for me and the illness got increasingly worse and more crippling (this was also due to other circumstances out of my control that I might tell you about one day).

So, what am I going to do? I can't cope at work, I can't cope at home and the only place I feel safe is my bed. Let's explore the options of some tablets.

Long story short from then on I have been on multiple different doses of: Fluoxetine, Citalopram, Sertraline, Venlafaxine and now this new one I can't remember what it is, it begins with M and I can't be bothered to move to find out.

Due to the Venlafaxine, I suffered with Serotonin Syndrome which is essentially a poisoning of a chemical in the tablets. Great. I felt like death, literal death. The doctor then halved my dose so I felt even worse and tapered me off the drug so I could go on this new tablet.

I took the first of the new tablets last night but it clearly hasn't had time to kick in. I have been stuck in bed all day, I'm shaking, I have a fever, I am having full body twitches and my eyes aren't working at the same pace as my brain. I essentially feel drunk without all the fun of getting there.

If any of you are thinking of going in anti-depressants just know it's not as simple and easy as doctors might make out. My journey is still going and right now I feel 100% worse than when I started. It is not a decision to take lightly so please consider all options first.

I also want to thank for you being understanding towards mental illness, it is the same as a broken arm, unfortunately you just can't see it.

Stay strong beautiful and remember another day is another excuse for a new shade of lipstick! xx

Too FAT to afford! The truth about plus size you probably don't know.

Hi Guy's,

I'm really hoping this doesn't turn into a ranty post but it will be full of these I'm not too comfortable in telling the world. It shouldn't be that way but it is.

In recent years, I would say in the last 2-3 I have been increasingly gaining weight. Mainly due to an under-active Thyroid and anxiety and depression. Well wasn't that a massive truth bomb. Now what with us women supposedly embracing curves and 'the fat £' I shouldn't feel so awful about my size. But I am.

Now I am understanding of my size, I know that I have let exercise and good eating slip on my journey to make myself mentally better, that's fine by me. So why do I feel so crap about myself?

Enter the fashion industry.

I have one simple request from all these big companies. I have to go to a funeral, no black allowed so I am looking for an A-line midi skirt, I'm very open to colour but preferably maroon, brown, suedette, camel, maybe blue. I'm looking to spend under £20.

This should not be a hard ask. If someone asked me to do this task for them I would think I could get in done in ten minutes. You can, but not at a size 18, 20 or 22.

So let's jump on ASOS. This is usually my go to size. So here I've gone to skirts but I haven't chosen a size because I want to do a comparison. There's 590 styles to choose from, nice!

My first search out of the 590 skirts they have is going to be size 8, 10 and 12.

Lucky ladies, they get 496 out of the possible 590 styles!

Now let's play a bit bigger I'm going to go for 20, 22 and 24.

Sorry girls, you can only have 23 of the 590 styles on offer. Within that range you have mainly mini and pencil skirts in one or two colours.

That's me done then, okay let's try Missguided, they always advertise for women my age!

Okay looking good, 754 styles found, awesome. Let's do the same test.

Sizes 8, 10 and 12. They have 632 styles, what an amount of choice!!

Sizes 20, 22 and 24. Ah, this is an issues. We only get 12 styles, only one of which isn't a pencil skirt.

I am seeing a trend here. Now I will be able to buy a skirt at ASOS or Missguided for around £20 but it won't be one I particularly want.

Okay right so I am "plus size" let's have a look at the plus size giant Evans. This should be easy.

NOPE, again I select my sizes and I get all of 16 styles, two of which are £20, both of which are pencil skirts.

So all I can say is I am sorry larger ladies of the land. If you want a choice in clothing you best be able to afford couture of lose 2 stone overnight because I don't have a skirt for the funeral and either way there is a huge lack of choice in the plus size market especially for those on a lower income.

The fashion industry disappoints again.
